How Our Service is Changing in Response to COVID-19

COVID19 Virus
OCMVCD COVID-19 Declaration

Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our employees and the community we serve. Our district is committed to helping slow the spread of COVID-19. In accordance with CDC and local public health recommendations the District office is now closed, and all non-essential staff will be working remotely.

The Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District is committed to protecting public health and will continue to conduct essential services to minimize future mosquito threats.

Please be advised that the District has postponed all in-person consultations and property inspection appointments until further notice. You can still submit a tip below.

Mosquitoes:

The recent rain has increased standing water and has created additional breeding sources for mosquitoes. If you are experiencing issues with mosquitoes, please visit our DIY site to learn how you can prevent mosquito breeding on your property.

If you have a large site of standing water you would like to report such as out-of-service pool, spa or water feature, click here.

Rats:

Click here if you are experiencing an increase in rat activity or if you are seeing indicators that you may have rats.

Red Imported Fire Ants

If you suspect that your property has a Red Imported Fire Ant (RIFA) mound, block off the area to minimize contact with the mound . Click here to report a RIFA mound.

District staff will continue to attend all COVID-19  briefings and follow the recommendations of the Orange County Healthcare Agency and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The District will continue to provide updates via our website and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter). By following public health recommendations and personal hygiene measures, we can all do our part to help stop the spread of COVID-19.  Once this global health emergency is abated, the Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District looks forward to serving your needs. Thank you for your understanding.
